Kari Hollingsworth, CLD, Yoga Instructor
Kari understands birth as a sacred and unique event. Through the birth of her own daughters (1994 & 1996) and assisting others in their experiences she realized how very important knowledge, unconditional support and personal empowerment is to achieve a rewarding, positive birth experience, for both a birthing woman and her partner. Her formal doula training began through Mother Wellness in December, 2003. She also has Reiki training Level Her passion for birth, and past experience, serves her well as a professional birth assistant or "doula". “Birth is a highly personal and powerful event. Birthing women should feel understood, safe and empowered to birth the way that feels right to them. In assisting women and their partners in this process I am honored to “mother the mother.” |

Carmen grew up around medicine and found that it caused her to have a different understanding of the place of the medical field. She grew to appreciate that there were things in life that needed to be left to natural ways. “I believe that childbirth is a truly amazing event that requires an essence of love and trust.”
She was originally introduced to the birth world by her cousin, an aspiring midwife in Manitoba. They found that they had similar philosophies on birth and self-nurturing and Carmen very much wanted to be a part of this life-changing event. “Even though I am not yet a mother myself, every birth that I attend becomes a new journey of learning. The uniqueness behind every experience always proves to be a truly humbling and powerfully impacting one.” With her esthetics profession, in relation to pregnancy and birth, she encourages mothers to indulge and receive due attention for their hard work in the birthing experience.

Robyn Cuthbert-Adair, B.A., CLD |
|
Her journey into "Birth" began in the Fall of 1999 she and her husband conceived our first child. She set out to educate herself about every aspect of the birth process from pregnancy, labour and birth, to breastfeeding and baby care. “I did not understand, at the time, that I had crossed a threshold of no return.” In the Spring of 2005, while in my eighth month of gestating her fourth child, her knowledge base had grown along with her experience and she was training to be a Doula. Robyn’s journey has been accented by various personal and professional experiences in birth; each of which she’s welcomed as an opportunity to grow in knowledge and wisdom about this sacred transformation. Robyn’s background in Psychology has helped to shape her perspective of integrating birth into the whole experience of self. “I believe in the birthing process and in the instinctual ability of women to birth. “ |
