Carmen grew up around medicine and found that it caused her to have a different understanding of the place of the medical field. She grew to appreciate that there were things in life that needed to be left to natural ways. “I believe that childbirth is a truly amazing event that requires an essence of love and trust.”
She was originally introduced to the birth world by her cousin, an aspiring midwife in Manitoba. They found that they had similar philosophies on birth and self-nurturing and Carmen very much wanted to be a part of this life-changing event. “Even though I am not yet a mother myself, every birth that I attend becomes a new journey of learning. The uniqueness behind every experience always proves to be a truly humbling and powerfully impacting one.” With her esthetics profession, in relation to pregnancy and birth, she encourages mothers to indulge and receive due attention for their hard work in the birthing experience.

Robyn Cuthbert-Adair, B.A., LD |
|
“My journey into "Birth" began in the Fall of 1999 when my husband and I conceived our first child. I set out to educate myself about every aspect of the birth process from pregnancy, labour and birth, to breastfeeding and baby care. I did not understand, at the time, that I had crossed a threshold of no return. In the Spring of 2005, while in my eighth month of gestating our fourth child, my knowledge base had grown along with my experience and I was training to be a Doula.” Robyn’s journey has been accented by various personal and professional experiences in birth; each of which she’s welcomed as an opportunity to grow in knowledge and wisdom about this sacred transformation. Robyn’s background in Psychology has helped to shape her perspective of integrating birth into the whole experience of self. “I believe in the birthing process and in the instinctual ability of women to birth. “ |
